Self-amalgamating insulating tapes
Cable sealing tapes / insulating mastic
Description:
Cold amalgamating insulating tape on butyl rubber base, with easy to pull off plastic separating layer.
Special features:
Will amalgamate after processing under light tensile stress to form an air and waterproof layer that can be
shaped as desired by hand, is permanently elastic, compatible with all materials for cable jackets, will remain flexible
even at temperatures below 0 °C, excellent dielectric properties, weather and aging resistant.
Typical areas of use:
For quick, economical construction or repair / replacement of insulation, in particular the maintenance of damaged
cable jackets, can be built into complete installation systems in combination with other insulating tapes
(e. g. cable end wrapping with PVC insulating tape), for provisional closure of coupling sleeves, padding of
cable clips, use as dust and corrosion protection, e. g. against the effects of moisture at cable ends,
can be used indoors and outdoors.

Self-amalgamating high voltage insulating tape up to 35 kV
Description:
Cold amalgamating insulating tape made from polyisobutylene, with an easy to pull off plastic separating layer.
Special features:
Will amalgamate after processing under light tensile stress to form an air and waterproof rubber layer, extremely
elastic (elongation at break 600 %) and shape adaptable, permanently elastic, compatible with all materials for
insulation and cable jackets, wide range of temperatures for application, excellent electrical properties
(in particular dielectric strength) UV, ozone, weather and aging resistant.
Typical areas of use:
Ideal for sealing, splicing, insulating and for the repair of live cables, mainly for
voltage insulation of high-voltage cables up to 17 kV/mm, excellent repair properties, even on heavy
rubber sleeve cables, for waterproof sealing of electrical circuits and connections
(e. g. satellite TV dishes), for fixing cables outdoors, corrosion protection of metal parts,
excellently suited for emergency repairs to car radiators, water and engine hoses, vacuum cleaner hoses,
sinks and waste pipes.

Self-amalgamating insulating tape for extreme temperatures
Description:
Cold amalgamating insulating tape made of polyethylene, with easy to pull off plastic separating layer.
Special features:
Will amalgamate after processing under light tensile stress to form an air and waterproof layer, extremely
elastic (elongation at break 600 %) and shape adaptable, permanently elastic, compatible with all materials for
insulation and cable jackets, unusually wide temperature range for application, excellent electrical
properties (in particular dielectric strength), ozone, weather and aging resistant, outstanding resistance to
alkaline solutions, hydraulic fluids and other chemical substances.
Typical areas of use:
Uses as for high-voltage insulation tape no. 16 2840 – 16 2841, but with added excellent resistance to
very high and very low temperatures (–35 °C to +95 °C, up to 130 °C for short periods) and also to many
chemicals, for demanding insulation work up to 34 kV/mm and for maintaining resistance to chemicals
at high temperatures.
