lubrication (CIMCO boring lubricant no. 20 1307) and by abiding by the recommended speeds.

Keyword: new dimensions in electrical installation.
The European standard DIN EN 50262 “Cable Glands for Electrical
Installations” has been valid since 1 January 2000 thus abolishing the PG system
common in Germany. Electrical installation tubes, screwed cable glands,
sockets, housings and cabinets are affected.
The change provides advantages to the user:

-10 PG sizes are replaced with 8 metric sizes
- With each metric size a sealing area is achieved that is approx. 20% larger
than with the PG size
- The outer thread diameter can be derived directly from the type
designation (example: M16 = 16 mm outer diameter)
During the transition period, both systems are available simultaneously (for
replacement and repair installations). CIMCO recommends having both
types of step drills, thread cutters and screw punchers on hand.
